The Largest Metaverse Token Belongs to Apecoin,Surpassing MANA and SAND

Apecoin rose 7% on Wednesday morning, trading at $19.10, making it up more than 22% in seven days.

It was a week after Yuga labs, founder of the boring ape Yacht Club (BAYC), announced that it would launch its otherside Metaverse on Saturday. Since then, apecoin (APE), the standard currency required by otherside, has become the largest Metaverse token in market value, surpassing the mana of decentraland, the sand of the sandbox and the AXS of Axie Infinity.

The Ethereum

The Ethereum based token ape of the bored ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ecosystem also performs well compared with other cryptocurrency markets, surpassing most of the top 100 currencies listed in coinmarketcap. So far, ape is the 28th largest cryptocurrency by market value, about US $5.5 billion.

The only token in the top 100 that saw a similar surge on Wednesday morning was secret (SCRT), which has risen 10% over the past day. SCRT is the native token of privacy focused secret network, which is based on Cosmos / tendermint framework.

On Wednesday morning, Web3 messaging service alter announced a partnership with Web3 conference platform Huddle01, involving alternatives to popular conference software such as zoom and Google meet, which focus on privacy. The purpose of these two projects is to create a set of privacy oriented information transmission and meeting tools on secret.

“Alter aims to create a one-stop suite to replace productivity software (g-suite, Microsoft teams, etc.) and community tools such as discord, slack and telegraph,” the team wrote on its blog. “Together with Huddle01, alter aims to attract 100 million users by 2026.”

At the same time, the broader cryptocurrency market is sluggish. According to coinmarketcap, the global market value is close to $1.78 trillion, down 2% from the previous day. Market leader bitcoin fell about 2% to $38762.82, while Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, fell 2% to $2852.03.
