So, I've been hearing a lot about cryptocurrencies lately, and I'm starting to get interested. But one thing that's been confusing me is taxes. Do you only pay tax on crypto when you sell it? Or do you have to pay taxes on it every year, like with other investments? And how does the government even know how much crypto you have? I've heard about people using crypto to avoid taxes, is that true? And if so, how does that work? I'm just trying to wrap my head around all this new and complex stuff. Could you explain it to me like I'm five? Do you only pay tax on crypto when you sell?
