What happens if I send Weth to ETH?

I'm a bit puzzled about a transaction scenario. Could you please clarify for me what would occur if I mistakenly sent WETH to an ETH address? As I understand, WETH is a wrapped version of ETH, designed to function as an ERC-20 token within the Ethereum ecosystem. However, given that they serve different purposes and have distinct technical properties, I'm concerned about the potential consequences of such a mix-up. Would the transaction simply fail? Or would there be some sort of loss or complication involved? Your expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. What happens if I send Weth to ETH?

WETH is an ERC20 token designed to simplify the interaction between Ethereum and other decentralized applications. It functions as a bridge between ETH, the native currency of the Ethereum network, and ERC20-compliant tokens. This allows users to deposit ETH into a smart contract and receive an equivalent amount of WETH tokens in return.

In addition to spot trading, BTCC also provides futures trading services. This allows users to engage in leveraged trading, enabling them to potentially amplify their profits (or losses) by borrowing funds to increase their trading position. Futures trading can be a risky but potentially rewarding strategy for experienced investors.

The minting process of WETH tokens is seamless and straightforward. Once ETH is sent to the contract, it is automatically converted into WETH tokens in the same value. This conversion allows ETH to be used in ERC20-compatible protocols and decentralized finance applications that may not directly support ETH.

The reverse process is also possible. If a user wishes to withdraw ETH from the contract, they can simply call a function that burns the specified amount of WETH tokens. In return, an equivalent amount of ETH is sent back to the user's address. This flexibility makes WETH an ideal tool for managing liquidity and participating in various financial activities on the Ethereum network.
